I can imagine a day where streaming changes to loading in textures and other data prior to them being required and unloaded once it’s not required
The current method will always have input and then video streaming lag


I think it’s like most things, 1% are loud and the rest will accept it


They don’t license out their operating system to other companies or ever claimed it was open
They may be guilty of similar things, but not quite the same
Thought they were distinct, never mind me then

I haven’t had an optical drive in any computer or console or other device for many years at this point
I can understand the reasoning why people think this is a bad thing but it seems this is just where things were going anyway, vote with your wallet I guess


Personally I enjoyed the fact that for the casual consumer cheap windows laptops I would need to run malware scanners on for everyone I know were effectively replaced by iPads and iPhones
The moment other stores are introduced we will go back to the same nonsense, the older open options are still available, why isn’t that enough choice?


I’ll always remember going to a rise against concert and scalpers outside were saying “tickets for rise against the machine”, they have no idea what they are selling


I guess the point is that if you don’t have the disc then they can take it away from you
The way I see it is this has enabled companies to upgrade and rerelease games and keep them operational on newer hardware


They don’t know that yet, it’s like 4 months away from release


Would it be better if it was on a piece of cardboard with the code behind a scratch off section?


Guess we will see if GTA6 online fails due to not being in the unreal ecosystem

They seemed to have pretty good evidence of people breaking contracts first time around
Even the people making YouTube videos about it kind of disappeared as soon as the evidence came out
