This is how I can tell you aren’t GenX lol. Ace of Spades by Motörhead was huge in the 80s
If you’re looking for material to screenshot and post elsewhere on Lemmy, cancel your ISP and reevaluate your life you are wasting it.

Lemmy is software that can be used however the instance admin that hosts the community that you are using want it to be used. It is censorship proof which means that you are free to launch your own instance and publish your own content which will be sent to and be accessible from other Lemmy software instances that federate with you and allow the content or people can sign in themselves to your local instance if you allow them to make accounts and access your software and hosting.
Interesting, thanks for the tagging thru the mastodon compatibility!
Thanks for the explanation, I guess it is a wait and see. Maybe I can make some kind of reposting bot in the mean time for kicks
I use it to re-tone and clarify corporate communications that I have to send out on a regular basis to my clients and internally. It has helped a lot with the amount of time I used to spend copy editing my own work. I have saved myself lots of hours doing something I don’t really like (copy-editing) and more time doing the stuff I do (engineering) because of it.
I hate everything the US government does
Awesome, I can’t wait to try this out! Thanks for this, accountability tools really help me stay focus and reliable for the people who depend on me and I depend on and I’m excited to give this a try. Thanks for everything D!
Here is the thing, I was a vegetarian who was exposed to vegan “bullying” and it pushed me to veganism after seeing the contradictions between what I said and what I was doing. Not only did it work on me, literally hundreds of people have thanked me for helping them go vegan when I ran vegan circlejerk on reddit over the course of years.
No one tactic works, if you knew how to make vegans, you’d be vegan. For some people the vegan circlejerk style activism works with receipts, for others not so much. There is no right answer. If there was one correct way to promote and build veganism then the world would already be vegan.
I know for a fact though that I’ve helped 3 people in my own life and have received tons of messages in appreciation for what I did. No other social justice won supporters by being nice either. Civil rights are not gained by asking nicely.
I could only get it to work with docker and not using ansible, the instructions are pretty good but if you have a specific question I can try and help. I do IT for a living so I guess I filled in some context maybe https://join-lemmy.org/docs/administration/install_docker.html
I started with it locally, but I migrated it to a hosting provider because of their managed services and I’m lazy. I take offsite hourly backups and own the domain so if anything happens I can rebuild it elsewhere.
I like having ownership of my internet experience so I run a lemmy instance and my friend administrates it. It is more fun than using a botted network.
Tankie has no definition to liberals so they can’t answer this, it is whatever they feel at the time.
Not by asking non vegans. Vegans are the voice for the voiceless and you’re taking part in a boycott that challenge peoples core beliefs. To be a good vegan is to push back and disturb social cohesion which people do not like. I’m not a vegan to make friends, I’m vegan to do the right thing.
Who knows, they said because of glorifying violence when people were praising John Brown, but really I think Reddit is anti leftist and used quarantining The_Donald as an excuse for “fairness”
Reddit is a captured propaganda tool of the US state department and heavily botted by their political parties.
When the chapotraphouse subreddit was banned I learned about lemmy and hexbear. I lost the password to lemmy.ml u/HamidPayaamAbbasi now I have my own instance.
I’m in my mid 40s and I care about things more and have more experience and context to understand everything. I definitely wouldn’t start smoking, I actually am taking better care of my health now because I don’t want to be sick for the last 30 years of my life like all the boomers. By virtue of posting to lemmy you are statistically likely to live into your 70s so I think your understanding of what old is or how bad you feel when you mistreat yourself is way off.
It is more decentralized than this platform.
The person on a mastodon instance says while commenting on a lemmy instance that I am reading from a different lemmy instance that I own.
I don’t really think the name of the software matters. My server is called The Vegan Theory Club, and that is what I ultimately want people to look for and know. The fact that we are running the lemmy software is a bit incidental imo, it is a good website platform and I think if you are looking for software it is an obvious choice and in that context people aren’t going to confuse it with Motörhead
