If you pirate stuff they can sue you to the ground but if a fine is not related to total income or wealth it’s just something to be ignored.

I mean I still have my Gmail account in my mail clients - just every time I get an email on it that’s not spam I go to the account settings and change the mail account there
I haven’t gotten a mail on it in almost a year so I think I’ll unplug it and only login if needed
Also every bit of atomic energy we use now humans have to pay for for centuries to keep the waste safe
Normally these guys are all about passive income and buying over subscriptions and things like this but if your actions lead to generations having to pay for it suddenly it’s not as bad…
I said it’s ads or selling data - it can be any combination of those 3 factors

The “funny” thing is that the moment those people have power they don’t have a problem going against free speech (see having books banned (in the US) or trying to stop people from voicing their opinion (Meloni in Italy))
It’s all just exploiting the tolerance of the system in order to make it less tolerant That’s why completely unchecked free speech is a bad idea as it will eventually lead in its complete demise
just look at election-results around the globe and how easily a lot of people are fooled by populists…
If the fine is not a fixed amount but actually gets more expensive the more money you have it actually is quite nice though
