hitmyspot@aussie.zoneto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Frequent flyers, is economy on a "regular" airline worth the extra cost compared to economy on a budget airline?5·11 days agoVaries between airlines. Usually the non budget airlines are slightly better service and amenities but the difference is shrinking. However, the. Udger will have extra costs for everything, including luggage etc. so it depends on the cost difference.
No point saving $20 then paying $10 for luggage check and $10 for a snack.
Generally best to look at what’s going to suit your schedule best unless the price difference is enough to change your plans around it. 6am departure can mean a 4am rise. You’ll be tired at your destination. 9pn departure, you’ll just sleep when you land and need to pay an extra days accommodation.

Before phones, we all got them but just ignored them and filtered them out. Phones trained us to monitor for them so we now notice them.

Speak up Sonny.
lol, my now 8 year old used to ask how long befor X would die, pretty much daily. Then for a while, any famous band, or singer or actor; are they dead or alive?!
We just always answered about everyone dies, but when they are very old or very sick. Unfortunately, younger brother was due for open heart surgery at that time so it was hard to explain what was serious and what was risk and what was death.

With larger data throughput, more and better services may become available.
Even when you consider common stuff like gaming, it often takes a while to fully download or update games.

Wealthy countries all continue to grow also, obviously. So it’s the rate that matters, so gaps close and people are better off on average.
hitmyspot@aussie.zoneto Technology@lemmy.ml•Microsoft getting nervous about Europe's tech independence1·3 months agoLol, no. It’s to help them catch up so they can purchase products the wealthier countries sell. It’s mutually beneficial.
hitmyspot@aussie.zoneto Technology@lemmy.ml•Microsoft getting nervous about Europe's tech independence1·3 months agoIn what way? I thought unemployment was down significantly, which is a big help for a lot of people.
hitmyspot@aussie.zoneto Technology@lemmy.ml•Microsoft getting nervous about Europe's tech independence1·3 months agoYou do know that these wealthier countries pay more into the EU and the poorer countries get structural funding for infrastructure etc to help them catch up to the wealthier?
hitmyspot@aussie.zoneto Technology@lemmy.ml•Microsoft getting nervous about Europe's tech independence1·3 months agoWhich worked. It also worked for Portugal and Ireland. Greece may or may not have been able to correct their issues on their own. However, there were lots of structural issues, including cultural issues around taxation.

hitmyspot@aussie.zoneto Technology@lemmy.ml•Microsoft getting nervous about Europe's tech independence3·3 months agoAsk Croatia, Ireland, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Slovakia andSlovenia if they are? Hint, they absolutely are.
Any union with such a variety of policies will have winners and losers for every project and legislation. Sometimes that will be individuals, sometimes countries. The point is that most are better off in general and that every country is better off from the sum of policies.
Countries have less control of their individual exchange rate. That was problematic for Greece, who underwent austerity, successfully I might add as access to the EU wide economy and trade, including (over)tourism is what’s taken them back from the brink.
In terms of larger countries, it has been beneficial for France and Germany, less so for Italy, but also less of a problem and less of the fluctuations the lira used to suffer.
