I only had 2 of the big ones, but they came in different sizes, and I still have all the small ones.

Little axes and things always got lost, then people would steal them out of the boxes on store shelves, so if you were looking for a new one you always had to verify all the parts were there. :(

Had this happen with an Xfinity bill. Repeatedly wrote “no such person this address” and sent it back, no difference. Called Comcast and explained it, no difference.

Finally I just opened one and found out they had changed the SERVICE address, but not the MAILING address.

So I went online and filled out a change of address form:

It cost $1.10 to do it, but was worth it. All their mail was then routed to that service address.

I’d go back and preserve all the missing Doctor Who episodes. :)

As a rule, we don’t handle the unexpected well. When my grandfather died from lung cancer, it was a long, protracted ordeal involving hospice care. Everyone was prepared, nobody was surprised.

When my dad died from a massive heart attack in the middle of nowhere in Nevada, a month after retiring, it was a shock, nobody saw it coming. He didn’t make it long enough for the life flight helicopter to get there. Reportedly his last words were “Oh no.”

Knowing that, but not knowing the exact JSON call, I don’t see how there’s a way to spoof it. So I’m glad you found an alternate method!

You’d have to have the Console window open in Chrome, go to a community where you aren’t banned, click the “Block Community” button and see what request it’s sending and see if you can manually modify it for nottheonion.

It doesn’t work on mobile or I’d feed you the URL, I’ll see what I can do later when I’m on desktop.

Edit Looks like a Lemmy bug, but I can confirm it does work in Boost, I bet if you set it up there, the setting will follow you.

Huh, that DEFINITELY seems like an oversight. The entire community control block is replaced with a “You Are Banned” message.
