Thank you for finding UV blocking lenses. Was worried about your eyes from your previous (very cool) shades post.

HFCS in everything.
I intend to. I refuse to die in old age, wasting my life working to support shareholders. Have a good few decades left to even be close to that though and I hate it.
I’d say that despair is also common for those of us who have been painfully aware of the causes.
Just want to say: Thanks for your perennial civility as well as continuing to offer learning resources for people interested in any “sect” of leftist ideology.
None. I don’t appreciate games with mechanics that are intended to mess with my already fucked dopamine signaling.
I liked the SplitKB Kyria. But my wrists did not (through no fault of the keyboard - wrist injury).
Completely off topic: Your username gave me a chuckle that I quite needed. Thank you.
Nothing “potential” about it. :)
It’s your first date and she/he asks what type of music you like. What’s the guilty pleasure you won’t tell her/him about?
I love music and hate but being myself (AuADHD weeeee) so, they’re going to hear an honest answer. If they’re not down with my love of folk punk and what I classify as “shitty punk rock” (you just the kind - overly-compressed, terribly mixed, played by people who barely know how to tune a guitar), well, that’s fair enough. Same as if they aren’t up for my, AuADHD - neurodivergence can be a bit to handle.
Thank you for catching that.
I’ll give you two:
First, what I call “shitty punk rock” (no offense to the performers). I consider it a form of folk music as it is played by people who may or may not be talented or skilled but, they play it anyway. They have something to express and they choose to express it and passionately express it with such a low level of self-judgement that I envy. Years ago, I’d be in the pit but, I’m not cut out for it anymore. I’ll still support em as I can though.
My favorite though, absolutely has to be folk-punk. Whether singing originals or covers or punkified trad or tradified punk, I absolutely love it. Some recommendations would be Days’n’Daze, Defiance Ohio, and The Dreadnoughts.
I’m also a fan.
Of note Nick Cave has an album filled with pure brutality named “Murder Ballads” that can be a bit hard to get through for me, not for musicality or style but because it succeeds at embodying that term, “brutality”.
Yup. Maybe a bit bitter at US telecoms pocketing the subsidy money from the 90s, 00s, 10s, and 20s, without delivering.
Fiber to the Home Internet connectivity that was paid for 30 years ago.
Yeah. You shouldn’t have an issue then - all of the nix stuff worked as it was supposed. Really a documentation problem more than anything.
Oh. The problem wasn’t the hardware. Don’t let my experience dissuade you, especially if you already know and like NixOS. It was the NixOS docs and my unfamiliarity with Nix/NixOS. Following the official docs gave me an install that worked perfectly but had no networking. I might give it another go once the docs are more mature but the experience and need of a DSL left a bad taste in my mouth.
I’ve had trans reports in the past when I was a supervisor (TBF, the world was a lot different). Two things that I’d recommend:
Continue being a good lead and treating them with respect, using their preferred pronouns, etc. Intervene gently but firmly if there is inappropriate derogatory stuff going on in the workplace.
If possible, I’d get a 1:1 meeting with them and outright ask “Do you want to talk with me about how current events are impacting you and anything that I can do to ensure that you feel supported?”. If they say “no” or aren’t comfortable, ensure that they know that that’s ok and that the offer is there.
As a disclaimer, I am neurospicy so, there may be gentler ways to approach but I have found that clearly and directly communicating that genuine support is there, if they need it want it and giving them a way to ask is generally well-received.
