I wonder how much bigger the overall numbers were after the World Cup this year. They certainly advertised the fuck or of gambling during the games.

The 5-4 and Strict Scrutiny podcasts are fucking infuriating to listen to. The hypocrisy and self contradiction in Supreme Court and some circuit court decisions is insane.

That’sa valid concern, we’re here for the inconsequential stuff.
Fully agree though.

If he fell asleep with his foot over the accelerator and then woke up as the car left the road, this should be expected.
My brother did the same thing while my parents were following him home and had to watch him drive up an embankment and do a half donut before he was aware enough to hit the brakes.
They thought he was having a stroke or something, but he dozed for a second and woke up to a road sign directly in front of him and thought he was hitting the brakes.

I was getting apprentice credit I could have used to shorten an apprenticeship after graduation, but I dropped the box classes senior year and went to college for design instead.
I eventually ended up using a tiny bit of the knowledge for interactive museum and store front installations, but I’d have made a killing in commercial electrician work in the mean time.

I wish I’d stuck with the vocational classes and ignored the utter morons I was surrounded by.
I could have made a killing and been retired by now, but I thought I was too smart and went to college, got in a bunch of debt, and crushed my soul in advertising and web dev for my best years.

Mines slightly lighter, but otherwise same.

Strawberry rhubarb with mostly rhubarb. Two crusts, nine of that crumble garbage and a big lump of vanilla ice cream on top.

No substances were involved, but when I was 16, my parents went out for the night and my buddy and I took my mom’s new Jeep Cherokee for a ride down a moderately serious fire trail near my house. It had rained and there were a few long puddles to ford, maybe axle deep at most.
Anyways we got it good and muddy and we were worried it got scratched on branches, so we took it to a 24 hour car wash, cleaned it, and everything looked great. Then while dropping off my buddy, I closed the back door and it didn’t latch all the way so I sorta hip checked it closed. The fucking thing caved in, and had a serious crease in just below the body line by the door handle. Like it was mad of cardboard.
Anyway I got in trouble and we mostly pulled the dent back, but never fully fixed it and had to hear shit about it for years after.
But they never knew that we had it on 3 wheels and possible airborne an hour or two before the door dent.

Take Doctorow’s advice and lobby your government to withdraw from or ignore the DMCA. If all of Europe did it, and Canada and China (if it isn’t already) it’ll have no power.
Just whichever NPR affiliate comes in clearest on a drive.

I accidentally flew with 4 inch long OLFA razor blade refills in the bottom of my laptop bag 4 times, twice around the Boston Marathon bombing, from and to Boston.
I didn’t find them until cleaning out my bag at home after the last flight. Basically some tape could make them into box cutters like the 9/11 guys supposedly used.
But I had to take off my shoes and belt every time, to feel safe.

When I bought my Vanagon 8-9 years ago, the spare tire still said made in west Germany!
I replaced it along with the rest of the badly work truck tires that were on it.
I’m 46 and we got a 14.4 modem in around 1992-3 I think. We used gopher and ftp then later hotline to trade shareware, then warez and serialz.
I miss those days, but I don’t miss downloading 8 of 9 parts of a file and not being able to reconnect to the server for the last one.

That’s just bringing the cost down, the amount of donation requests and catalogs my 70-80 y/o parents receive on a weekly basis is astounding.
And my dad has been dead for 10 years and still getting tons.
Like at least 5+ pounds of mailers a week, most with those fucking annoying little envelope windows. Around thanksgiving it doubles or triples in weight with the extra catalogs, and crazy shit like dream catchers, (garbage) work gloves & plastic shopping bags, calendars, note pads, address labels, calendars, notepads (I can’t emphasize enough how many there are).
A $20 donation from a few people can’t possibly result in more than $1-2 making to people in need.

That’s how I read it too. More like a fully encrypted anonymized trackerless BitTorrent client (or even more like Hotline (a pair of sort of FTP/chat/bbs client and server apps) for the older pirates in the audience.
Depending on the brand it might have been better 40 years ago. Or if it was wonder bread, you just liked the sugar in it.
