Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's an artificial limitation you put on yourself that has improved your personal life?
2·6 days agoIt doesn’t bother me a bit, but it also largely depends on wallet design and pants design. Over the years I’ve figured out an ideal balance for all my pockets…

9·7 days agoFor reference, I’m now 43 years old.
Around 20 years ago, around age 23, I decided to keep my wallet in my right front pocket, 24/7, save for bathing and clothes changing. Yes I do sleep with my wallet in pocket, it never leaves my vicinity.
I keep my wallet where it can’t easily be stolen, right next to the family jewels ya know…
I didn’t even heat the yogurt, I just left it on top of my microwave for like a week while I went to work. Yeah I know, you’re supposed to heat the stuff up to like 160⁰F or something like that, but I basically just left it at ‘room’ temperature of around 90⁰F for like a week.
And yes it worked haha!
I made my own yogurt once, does that count?
No I’m not even joking, I literally made your.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Most technologies continue to improve with innovation, like WiFi. What is a technology that was nearly perfect upon conception?
3·1 month agoThe two QR codes could be totally related, like two different versions of a rickroll, or two different versions of bad apple.
You just never know exactly which one you’re gonna get…
Hint, in my experience testing that, it partly depends what angle you’re holding your device when scanning such combo QR codes.

6·1 month agoI had a chrome Zippo XIV, one of the models you just don’t fuck with.
I loaned it out one day to light fireworks. Somehow they overheated and ruined the flint wheel…
Anyways, if I catch you swapping Zippo parts, I’m gonna melt Frosty the Snowman…

27·1 month agoI’ll add Bic lighter to this list too.
What else does Bic make? 🤔

121·1 month agoDid you know that you can halftone dither two different but same size QR codes on top of each other?
I wish I had a link to the article handy, but yeah I’ve tried that myself and it totally works! You basically get a 50/50 chance of one or the other code scanning. It’s literally two QR codes in one!
And no, that’s not some new special QR code format either, it’s basically taking advantage of the nature of the scanners plus the built in error correction.
Have you never seen a flying spaghetti drone before?
Me either, but it’s 2025, it’s totally doable…
- Are birds real?
- The Flying Spaghetti Monster might save us soon.
- The Cosmic Microwave Background is just a reflection of our microwave ovens…

I’d recommend silicone glue also, but I wouldn’t use epoxy, that’ll harden completely solid and won’t long stay attached with road vibrations and all.
OP, like the person above said, check for any clips or grooves or whatever first. If you absolutely have to glue it back on, make sure all the surfaces are clean first, and make sure to tape it up in place temporarily while the glue dries. I’d give it a whole 24 hours drying time with silicone glue.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•I finally passed my driving test, but instead I feel empty as if all those failures were leading to something bigger, is this normal?
6·2 months agoGas tank is empty, obviously.

🤷
Yes indeed, I don’t mind the autoplay on my tablet when I’m at home on my WiFi, but I’d really like to disable the video autoplay on my phone to conserve cellular data usage.
Thanks for the feature though, I’m looking forward to the next Jerboa update!

7·3 months agoApparently Jerboa doesn’t recognize the /c/ version as a link…
The entire wall mounted book shelf and all the books fell off the wall and landed on the last two rows of students in 2nd grade.
Thankfully I wasn’t sitting in the back of the class. Also, thankfully there were no serious injuries (that I can recall anyways).
Still is 👍
Windows 95 could actually run on just 4MB, just very slowly…
We actually tried that once, on a 386sx 16MHz with 4MB RAM. We nicknamed that system Slow Poke haha!

1·3 months agoThank you, I’ll be here all week…

That bug report seems about right from my experience, version 0.0.84
It’s apparently not the particular image itself though, as more comments accumulate, the glitch starts happening on a different image comment.
