I’ve been thinking about switching over to lemmy.today as it’s not currently defederated with anyone, so I can decide who to block and keep for myself. It’s based in Oregon, and I like the idea of joining an instance close to me. I do worry about Lemmy.world being so overly dominate in the federated-lemmy-space.

But many of the communities that I participate in are lemmy.world, and it’s nice that they send me an automated notice whenever a post/comment of mine is removed. I’ve already subscribed to many communities and would have to do that all over again. and I haven’t thought of a creative new username.

I believe a business is supposed to get permission from the Airbnb host for any commercial filming. Whether it’s a reality show, a TV commercial, or adult entertainment.

Press charges? Like criminal charges? Not in the US.

I suspect she could get banned from Airbnb for making essentially a porn video without the host’s consent.

I wouldn’t call any extinction event a favorite, because it is a loss. An interesting one that is less known than the Dodo is that the wake island rail bird was hunted to extinction by starving Japanese soldiers in WWII. The Americans blockaded the island, trapping the Japanese there, and they ate all the birds in just a couple years time.

I think it’s an interesting extinction because it’s an unintended casualty of war.

As an American, sorry about the war that my country committed against yours for no good reason. And I’m sorry for all the innocent people that my country killed. I wish your country well, and hope you can achieve peace and stability for your people.
