Anything to avoid touching the thousands of billions of generational wealth the elite is sitting on in e.g. real estate. Keep up the good work, 3rd biggest economy of the world, you can make it to 10th in a few decades.

5·7 days agoPeter Magyar promised to change the constitution and introduce an 8-year limit for the Prime Minister, thus making it impossible for Orban to make a Trumpish comeback. And I don’t see anybody within Fidesz that matches the voter pull of Orban.
Also, this was a true landslide - winning 2/3rds majority at 79.5% voter turnout, so the new government will be able to remove Orban’s puppets (e.g. SC, AG) and make the constitutional changes needed to strengthen democracy for the future.
Overall I’m quite optimistic for my country, even if conservative-centrist Magyar doesn’t match my views as a leftist, as he is definitely a democrat who wants to help his country.

13·1 month agoThis is true not just with code, but with many types of complex outputs. Going through and fixing somebody’s horrible excel model is much worse than building a good one yourself. And if the quality is really bad, it’s also just faster to do it yourself from scratch.

30·2 months agoBezos was a Senior VP by the age of 30, working for D.E. Shaw, and was a rumored heir for taking over the business after he retires. Bezos would have made billions and managed a major hedge fund. Set for life.
But that was not enough for him, he wanted to hoard hundreds of billions of wealth instead, so here we are. How perfectly healthy and in no way a mental illness.
