Does matrix have it’s own built-in video/voice group chats now? Last time I checked (several years ago) they were just using Jitsi for groups.

Notifications are the value for me. I don’t have to regularly check infrequently-updated sites if my RSS reader pings me whenever there’s a new post. Largely a different use-case to social media though.

It was better than Firefox at the time. Firefox only needed to be better than IE so it has become a bit of a ram-hungry bloaty mess, then Chrome came along and was actually really quick. How the tables have turned.
