Detachable controllers are one of the good points of the switch as well. Definitely think that idea should spread.

My boss still uses these to this day. A while ago he found a deal and bought like 10, new in box. He has one everywhere and backups to spare.

Should have stuck to being a president… maybe it’d land differently now, but in like 9th grade, it was a total slog.

Considering how long Apple has been putting neural cores in all their chips, and the speed at which their in house chips have outpaced competitors (like the M series for example), I feel like not only will Apple beat nvidia at this, Apple will do so by a decent amount.

That said, nvidia will continue to sell world wide in this market as Apple will keep their chips in only their own hardware, so if you’re not running a Mac/IOS device, you’ll be using nvidia chips.

Either way, even if Apple just keeps up, competition is still best for everyone, so I welcome this development.

I will say that we’re definitely getting to a level of adblockers that the sites actively care about blocking content or warning about people using adblockers. It’s starting to affect their bottom lines.

The tundra, F-150 and Honda Ridge line are all tied at 75% domestic US parts production. The Tacoma’s is a bit lower at 70%.

So, that makes it sound like they’re just tailoring their Chinese market cars for that market. Seems like a normal thing to do.

It’s still rings true today. Science moving faster than society is how we end up with things like AI, driverless cars, etc, where science and technology don’t match laws and expectations which don’t match up with societal requirements. To some extent, society puts checks and balances on science and technology. That’s a good thing overall. But oftentimes society elects individuals that aren’t realistic thinkers and instead of keeping science in check, they’d rather relive the past.

We always need to push forward, embrace change and new ways of doing things, but we need to make sure we don’t move too fast while also not pumping the brakes too hard. that’s a hard balance to find.

And is there loads of content on BlueSky? It’s really the only thing missing on Mastodon/Lemmy. Both are superior to X/Reddit, but content is slow in moving over.

And preferably do it not connected to Meta or Google or any other large org that makes money spying on its users and sharing their data.

The numpad usage was super quick, but my first (I’ve got a few and all follow that pattern) was a tented, split, ortho keyboard, the Iris. The ortho part for normal typing took me about two weeks or so to get up to normal speed. The split part has definitely helped my RSI though.

I definitely have tweaked my keymap for other special keys and media usage and such along the way. I’ve got the movement arrow keys under my sdf keys (for left, down, right, up on e) as well as of up and down on w&r so that hand doesn’t have to move either. Been living the ortho split life for 6 years now and I can easily type all day at work without any issues. (I’m a DevOps engineer so I do lots of typing, coding, console work all day long)

I ditched my numpad when I set up a layer that puts 456 right under jkl. My left hand hits the layer key (how much do you use both your left and right hands while using a numpad) so it’s right there and I don’t even have to move my hand. Doing so let’s me have the essential mouse closer to the boards.

It’s a full numpad, I’ve got the keys setup around it to put + - enter, etc there.

I’ll also add though, it’s an ortholinear so it’s also the same grid layout and a normal numpad.

Where are they going? Most of the ones I follow are along the “this sucks, but it’s the only real game in town”, so I’d be interested to check alternatives and see what’s there.

The big problem with any social or content centric platform is that new ones are only useful for consumers if there are creators and only useful for creators if there are consumers.
