Elections and congress were built upon the idea of shame. As in, no one could possibly do that and still expect to be reelected. A felon with a fraud conviction and a history of naked nepotism isn’t going to ask people to donate money with a straight face.
That’s basically psoriasis.
There could be a logical explanation for the chipmunks. They are more active at different times of the year, and maybe there happened to be a prolific family of chipmunks near you this year.

Will the people who own him let him have it?
You know, I hadn’t considered that. You’re immortal and so is everyone else. Do you even bother trying to enforce laws? Anyone put in jail is going to wake up back in their own bed. Anyone in jail is going to do whatever they can to escape. I suppose the guards aren’t going to show up for work. In fact, nobody is going to go do their jobs. Why would you choose to slog it out when you could do anything? Power companies will go dark, and public transit will disappear. Telecoms would stop working and anything that isn’t automated will just go away.
I suppose the early morning hours would be a mad dash for resources and weapons. Anyone unfortunate enough to sleep in that day would wake up to a world gripped in chaos every single day. Late nights would be either a wild party or extremely lonely.
But with the reset, things wouldn’t fall into disrepair. People who want to restore power and communications go just go and turn those back on. Money would be meaningless, so it would just be civic pride and boredom that brings the world back from chaos.
Sex wouldn’t mean much. Anyone giving birth that day would probably get weird. Anyone suffering from terminal illnesses would probably secure some great drugs and numb the pain as much as possible.
We would create a lot of performance art. Music, plays, creative storytelling, everyone would have time to create and consume.
Physical art would be almost nonexistent. You couldn’t work on a painting or statue, and anything you create would be gone by the next day.
If everyone is experiencing it, then everyone is going to change their behavior every day and the only thing that will be the same is the weather. There will be no patterns, but you’ll have people walking down the street, dodging pidgeon poop like Nic Cage with a mullet.
I believe that has been your personal experience, but that’s not the case for everyone. Addiction isn’t rational, and alcoholism wears a lot of costumes.
Sometimes alcohol abuse is just addiction. Trauma soon follows, though.
I’m not confused about what racism is. You’re the one saying people who disagree with you are supporting racism.

My mother is fairly religious, and she occasionally offers to take the kids to Sunday school. We decline, but sometimes we go attend her church for Christmas and Easter or if she’s singing a solo. Our kids are 9 and 11 and are both familiar with Christianity, and have a general understanding of most other religions. We haven’t told them what to believe, but we explained what we believe and that everyone gets to choose what they believe. They know grandma is a Christian, and they know I’m not.
I know my mom is disappointed that we aren’t doing more to indoctrinate our kids, but she has enough faith in Jesus to reach them, and I have enough faith in them to make good decisions either way.
I don’t think $200k is enough. That’s a lot of sleepless nights just from the itching. It would need to be enough money to afford to run my air-conditioning year round, on top of the mental anguish.
Do I have to keep it on during sex?
DC gets 3 electoral votes. PR gets none. But, Puerto Ricans are Americans, and can move to any state they like and register to vote there. But they do have to establish residency in that state. If they then leave the country and vote by mail, their votes would count in the state where they established residency.
So someone living in PR who moved to PA, established residency there, and then went home could request an absentee ballot, but I don’t know how long they could live outside the state and still be registered there.
I was far too young to read Animal Farm. I thought it was going to be like Charlotte’s Web. I did not have any of the historical or political context for the metaphor. It just made me angry.
That’s a fair question, but we’re in danger of conflating two different concepts. Knowledge is the information, and belief is the action. It’s a little bit like having money vs spending money. You can have money, you can spend money, and you can have spending money, and you can spend money you don’t have. These are all slightly different concepts despite using the same words.
When you think you know something, but you are mistaken, we call that a “belief” even though you did not doubt it. You believe you know something without a doubt, but you are wrong. You do not know, and you should doubt your belief. But you would never describe it as a belief, because you do not believe you do not know for certain.
That’s a pretty simple distinction, but you’ve asked for us to define abstract concepts without using definitions or abstract concepts. So let’s just say, knowledge is what you know and beliefs are what you believe. A belief implies some level of doubt, while knowledge is just the information you have in your head. There is a lot of overlap. I know that the sun will rise tomorrow, because I understand how the earth rotates and orbits the sun. I believe it will happen because I understand physics and observable phenomena. Put it another way, it is a high-confidence belief based on the knowledge obtained through observation and study. Some beliefs are based on nothing more than hope, and some knowledge is beyond any doubt. I believe the Phillies can win the World Series, but I know our bullpen pitches cantaloupes and our hitters are streaky as shit.
And it might be years before the full fallout is fully litigated.
