Instead of adding an account to the device with all of the management software that goes with it, one could use a generic SMTP email client (K-9 Mail?) and still get the email, but not have to worry about the privacy and remote administration concerns.
Edit: nevermind, I skimmed the question at first, and didn’t see the duo limitation. This solution probably isn’t an option.

Slightly related: Earlier this week, during breakfast I ripped one and tried to blame it on my 6yo son. He gave an annoyed sigh and said: Dad, you need more than two people to play “Who Farted”.

Walking the dog with 6yo son. It’s a double deuce event. My son wants to pick up the second deposit, so I let him. He asked me to tie the bag for him, so I asked him to hold the one I picked up earlier. We continue home each carrying a bag of poo. I look behind me, and he is paying attention to I don’t know what, but while he is staring off in the distance, he is unconsciously rubbing the bag of fresh poo on his lips.

Apparently that one wasn’t as obvious as I thought it was.
I didn’t leave the original comment, but I would say it certainly makes some parts of parenting easier. We just adopted a dog, and it has helped in strange ways. Expected ways such as my kid is much better about picking up his toys, putting away his laundry, and not leaving his shoes random places, but also it gives him something else to interact with that isn’t a glowing rectangle, or asking me a million questions.
I’m trying this.
We just adopted a dog, and my 6yo son wanted to hold the leash on a walk. I told him if he wants to hold the leash than he is responsible for picking up the poo if he makes any. The dog pooped, my son grumped about having to pick it up, and was all “why do I have to do it?”.
Points for him, he powered through and picked it up. About a minute later he said to me “actually dad, I kinda liked picking it up!”. Now he wants to pick up the poo every time even if he isn’t the one holding the leash.
Such a weird kid.
Interesting, my first thought was similar but different.
Clothing.
Now I have to go poke around the Internet trying to understand the history of both, which came first, and speculate about which made a bigger impact on our species.

Yep, it was fire. By like a lot. Both have pretty big ranges, but fire seems to be in the hundreds of thousands of years ago range, and clothing seems to be in the dozens of thousands of years.

I use FreeCAD most of the time, but occasionally I’ll also use OpenSCAD. It’s a different way to think about drawings but in certain circumstances it seems easier.
Set boundaries.
At my first professional job, there was one guy who always came in at exactly on time and never stayed late. I always thought it was weird, I’d typically stay at least long enough to finish whatever thought I was working on, and sometimes later just because I had nothing important to get to. Eventually I became one of the guys to go to when you needed someone to stay late. I didn’t mind, in fact I like being helpful. Looking back, I realized that I gave the company a lot of free work and didn’t get anything for it. It seems obvious but important to realize from day one, you are setting expectations. A “good” manager will figure out pretty quickly which employees they can exploit and how.
I know many sports games a lot of the adverts are imposed digitally before broadcast. I don’t watch a lot of sports, but I would certainly enjoy watching more if there were an option to disable the added adverts.
