It’s so appealing
So far, I don’t really have a need for Jellyfin. Kodi on it’s own is enough. If you aren’t using remote device to view your media then that’s probably the case.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Have you ever felt so checked out from your job you just want to lie on bed all day? What should I do?
25·14 days agoFriend, I’m gonna give it to you straight and simple, cause I’ve been there… that sounds like burn out. You need to a) figure out a way to take a medical leave b) seek professional mental help (even just meds to get you up and running so you can seek more long term help). If you absolutely cannot do the former, you have to do your quiet quitting while you seek help, so you can land on your feet when the inevitable happens.
Seconded for Kodi! It’s just a fantastic TV interface.

2·17 days agoBut it’s not that easy a lot of TVs will only boot into the smart TV (and that’s already slow) and will only let you pick external inputs from there, often requiring to select it everytime!

2·1 month agoThen SOCKS is what you want. It can be used on a Chromebook as well.
These proxying websites are running full browser instances in the background. It’s the only way to guarantee all the traffic is routed through it.I just had a look at croxy you’re right, it doesn’t run a full browser… and there’s a TON of data that doesn’t get proxied.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•An actually functional webproxy to self-hostEnglish
4·1 month agoYeah what you want is a SOCKS5 proxy then just launch another browser with the proxy config.
You can run a browser inside a docker or VM, and then use webvnc or something. I just don’t see the point.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•An actually functional webproxy to self-hostEnglish
4·1 month agoWhat exactly do you mean by web proxy? Something site specific like Invidious? Or an HTTP or SOCKS5 proxy?

You’e never heard of CBC or BBC? Weird flex to be this cluless of the world outside your own sorry excuse of a country.
