    I really don’t get why people are so vindictive over this whole thing. Brexit was a tragedy, people are easily misled, don’t think your own particular country is immune to doing equally stupid things. Also, there are legitimate reasons for not wanting to be part of EU too, but good luck trying to have a rational debate with anyone about that.

      I do get it. Britain joined in 1973 and not even ten years later, Thatcher was already bitching about their unreasobable contribution to the EU’s budget. The other leaders felt like they had to give in to her relentless nagging and granted the UK a rebate that no other nation got. Then the UK still never stopped whining about how bad Brussels was for their sovereignty and that they didn’t actually need the EU as much as the EU needed them. They left the EU, and it turns out that that was not a wise decision after all.

      I get that the people were sold empty promises, but the referendum had a long history of bitching and moaning leading up to it.
