Samsung disabling bootloader unlock and what Google is doing with Android reminded me that Bootloader Unlock Wall of Shame exists.
And also that FSF’s LibrePhone project exists, but not much progress has been seen from that.


Reject smartphone, embrace pi zero strapped to the back of a display panel.
Phones have always been just like shit computers, if I can get a computer small enough I won’t need the phone. Palmtop type of thing perhaps?
I have a Cutiepi, it was a great little portable gadget.
Looks quite interesting, not sure if it would be upgradable with a newer pi though, changing IO layouts would probably make that difficult without taking up more space.
The Compute Module is removable, so upgradable assuming the OS can accomodate any differences when they change from CM4 to something else
