Let’s say I, a middle aged cis man went to my doctor, wanting gender affirming care, and my doctor wanted to provide - what, if anything, would the treatment/care consist of? Just making sure my testosterone level was up to Hegseth-approved standards?

    “Low T” treatment, hair loss drugs, little blue pulls pills (in some situations), etc.

      Are hair loss drugs really gender “affirming” care?like what man out there is going bald and thinking “this looks too feminine”

      I guess it could be gender affirming care for women

        I am not thinking about it from a binary gender standpoint. I think of it more like “what I am naturally looking like is not how I believe I am supposed to look”.

          It feels like otherwise the definition is to vague, like using lotion, getting braces, or even getting a tattoo would be gender affirming care under that definition

          Those aren’t really to affirm one’s gender as they are gender neutral actions

          Like a person shaving their body hair to appear less masculine makes sense but a person shaving their body hair for swimming doesn’t make sense

            That’s the neat part, it is all just “care”.

            The whole thing gets muddy AF when one tries to squeeze definitions that make sense out of a box stuffed with binary gender and stereotyped gender “norms” that are not representative of real life. It is ridiculous to try to shove all possible characteristics of a person’s body into either “masculine” or “feminine” columns seemingly just to keep score for how “manly” or “feminine” the person is. (not saying you are doing this btw, this is a critique of a lot of our current society at large)

      penis enlargment surgery, even if its extremely risky and somewhat botchable. leg legthening surgery, is probably extreme, even with modern techniques. now looksmaxxing, people are obsessed or trying to consider JAWS SURGERY, probably for both jaws for seeing problems that arnt actually there, seems its thier first go-to for extreme rather than even plastic surgery.
