That survey sounds more like they’re thinking about asking an MCP API to it. That is, an AI assistant could be connected to send calls to perform tasks through Audacity without needing OpenClaw-like full computer access.
One use case I can imagine is, an indie game developer has a recording they want to use but it’s noisy and they’re bad at sound editing so they ask an AI to do something about it. The AI sees an exposed Audacity MCP server and goes to town.
I guess it could work?
Yeah, implementing an API to enable control over software functions for AI agents is not a big bad evil guy move.
Could, yeah, but never should. Hope that hypothetical indie game developer gets banned from stores.
I could see that argument for using AI to generate content, but cleaning human-generated content? Once you go down that road you call into question a lot of common tools in creative software.
