The sunrise illuminated the face of the statue of Ramesses II in Egypt’s Abu Simbel temple on Thursday, something which happens only twice a year. Hundreds of tourists from different parts of the world came to witness the event.

First thing I thought of.
Also mildly infuriating, as apparently everyone there to experience it in person did so THROUGH THEIR GODDAMN PHONE SCREEN.
How is the way other people experience their lives infuriating? It’s no skin off your back
It’s just a pet peeve.
The more I travel the more I realize that people travel for different reasons and a lot do it as a thing to check off the list and show off to the people back home.
Sure seems that way.
The last time I visited MOMA there was a crowd taking pictures and videos with their phones in front of Starry Night, and I honestly wanted to ninja kick every one of them.
I dunno if I’d call it infuriating, but more like disappointing. Or some better word to describe the feeling I get when people are living their lives in the clouds instead of with both feet on the ground.
Aziz, LIGHT!
It’s happened only twice a year since 1968, which is when the Abu Simbel temples were relocated from their original position to avoid being flooded by the Aswan dam.
I had a cd rom game from a cereal box where one of the mini games was relocating those statues before the water covered them.
Belloq’s staff is too long. They’re digging in the wrong place!
