DuckDuckGo lets you use various models but reserves the pro/most recent for Pro subscription but will they likely be eventually free too as newer ones replace them
That’s kinda what they do. They release the older stuff for free once they have the newer things. Also duck.ai does a good job of anonymizing your prompts, so it is an OK investment, and the chats are stored only on the browser. Be sure to know how to properly wipe browser history to remove all traces of the chat you had if you want to be 100% private.
I use Venice.ai, which is another private anonymous LLM that only stores chats on browsers.

Would you have a link to read about this, does this mean replacing any PII with placeholders?
You can read duck.ai’s terms of service.

Would it just be the IP addresses then?
It conceals the IP, too.
I should clarify, I meant to ask if the main thing it’s doing is taking care of the IP addresses/browser trackers
What they’re doing is helpful, but I believe it’s limited to sending them queries and having them contact the LLM provider on our behalf. If there is any personal information in the queries we send (ex. Passwords, secrets, names), those are passed along to the provider.
As opposed to something like Confer (which isn’t out yet), where the provider can’t see anything
