981·1 day agoAnd now people absolutely distrust and detest Chrome, Firefox is having an identity crisis on its hands, Edge is pretty much dead.
Browsers have gotten interestingly bad.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•If you are coming from Reddit: YSK that Lemmy and Piefed have no karma. Don't delete your posts.English
101·2 days agoI don’t think it’s just downvotes that are the reason posts are deleted. What’s being ignored, is what follows after downvotes. And that is, users being antagonistic over nuanced posts because the posts don’t contain the kind of brainrot-meme-lamejoke kind of content that is the norm.
And it is never a good feeling getting dogpiled on for absolutely no reason other than just not appeasing to whatever expectancy that is there. Additionally, when there isn’t enough activity aside from that, people can feel like ‘what’s the point?’ because they simply don’t have enough numbers of people engaging.
So this creates this discouragement within them to keep bothering.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What hot af take do you have that you think you will be HORRIBLY executed and shunned from society for?English
144·2 days agoThis is bait. I’m tired of these bait posts.
They’re bait posts because they’re preying on people to drop some really spicy unpopular opinion that nobody, even including the OP, will handle. It’ll create a scuffle, arguments and there will be calling for post removals and report wars will happen.
Also, it reeks of Reddit too, including to the last line.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How do you find friends without kids ?English
61·2 days agoIf anyone is going to hang with younger crowds, try to make a rule for yourself. I’m in the mid-30s and I would not be comfortable anymore trying to hang with early 20-year olds. So, more of my flow is the later-20 year olds like the 26, 27, 28 and the like.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How do I unrot my brain from AI, how do I start using ChatGPT less and less, and is improv a good enough way to fix an AI-rotted brain?English
1·3 days agoRealize that AI will not actually do everything you think it would. Because it can’t. You still need to put effort in some things.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Have you ever had a time a food so good it "converted" you?English
111·3 days agoAvocado. For some reason, for years, I thought they’d taste nasty. Turns out, they’re just like meat if it was a fruit and I dig that.
Until the browsers I use axe ad-blocking, it’s as simple as a HDMI cable and watching through PC tunneled to TV.
I’ve given stream sticks an honest try, but they’re all abysmal. It feels like I’m caged in an advertisement ecosystem.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Who is/was the biggest jerk in your life?English
3·3 days agoParents.
They obviously demonstrated, multiple times, that they really didn’t want to be parents. If they didn’t want to be parents, then why did they decide to have me randomly? Especially mother who popped out three more kids she also failed.

I’m having a chuckle because I know who exactly this is offending and it’s showing in the comments.

Technology@lemmy.world•A rare sticker-sealed copy of Super Mario Bros. just sold for $3 millionEnglish
45·6 days agoFuck WATA for trending this bullshit. Like sure, it might’ve been a thing that was already going, but when WATA got into the picture, they amped it up. So now we’ve been seeing these people run around just securing their collections in little cases, getting little stickers and they’re going around artificially inflating the value as to what to sell games by.
When, WATA has been shown to be operated by a bunch of hedgefund cronies that are definitely running money laundering schemes and are in court over things.
If you’re an aspiring collector and you buy one of these kinds of games, you’re the fool.

Technology@lemmy.world•Frances Haugen: ‘We are worse off today than when I leaked the Facebook documents’English
70·6 days agoIt only works if the vast of the majority cares.
But for some bizarre, unexplained, unreasonable and arbitrary reason - the majority doesn’t.
Yet, day after day, hour after hour, they’re complaining, complaining and complaining about the mountain of problems with Facebook and social media. People, make up your fucking mind already. Do you want to continue to be fucked with for more years by the very things that have already been fucking with you for the past two decades? Or do you actually want someone to take the bullet FOR YOU and TRY to do something about it?
Because this kind of sacrifice only works - if you fucking gave a damn. The more times you don’t give a damn, the more this shit continues running as is.

Um, no. It’s in the body of the title. Go back to Reddit for that.
