Not to share too much, but that type of gift doesn’t require it being my birthday.

HAHA No, I don’t expect them to remember, and I don’t remind them. In August I’ll be 47 I haven’t had a birthday party, gift, or card since I was maybe 25, the year my mother passed away. I’ve been married for 21 years. Not to be clear, my wife does say “Happy birthday”. But she’s not really a gift giver type of person.
I’m disabled and well below the poverty line, I’m fully aware where I would end up in a class war.
Hope so, it’s long past time for a reboot.
It has been my experience 100% of the time that if someone says “No one cares” they in fact do care. People who don’t care say nothing.
So I pretty much agree with your assessment that it’s Self-disproving.
I hold the folded tissue up to the light, if I see color I double check, if not, then no. Also I usually only do this if I feel a reason to, like feeling sick, or like it may have been a bloody nose, etc.
September of 2006 I was cleaning the house and had just finished mopping the upstairs bathroom and was taking the mop and broom back downstairs when my wet shoe slipped on the hardwood stairs (No carpet or treed). I fell down 8 steps landing on the landing. At first I thought I was fine, but when I stood up I instantly fell down. It was at this moment I noticed on the wall was a streak of blood about 3 feet long. Touching my temple revealed a good bit of chiseled spam. So it’s possible during the initial fall, I slammed my head into the wall and knocked myself out for a moment. Though I’ve never been able to figure out if that is in fact the way it happened. I have no memory of hitting my head though.
That wasn’t the part that really hurt me though. I realized I had no control over my right leg. It didn’t “hurt” really, but it was just hanging at an odd angle. Not know exactly how hurt I was, and not sure what else to do, I called 911 and an ambulance ride later had me in the ER. 6 hours of tests and waiting and it was revealed I had shredded my patellar Tendon.
The next morning I had a surgery that was supposed to last 3 hours, it ended up lasting 7 because the surgeon accidentally cut into an artery in my leg and I lost a great deal of blood before they could get the bleeding to stop. I ended up having to have 3 pints of blood to stabilize me before they could continue sewing my tendon back up. The way it was described to me was like trying to sew together to wet mop heads. I spent the next year of my life on my back before PT to learn to walk again. I gained 200 lbs in the year and it took me nearly 15 years to get the weight back off, I’m still struggling to get the rest of it gone.
To this day I have trouble walking, major back issues, and tons of nerve damage on my right side that I’ll have till the day I die.
The only people who support the ban are boot licking idiots who don’t know the real reason why it’s being banned in the first place. The only reason TikTok is being banned is Marky Mark and Muskrat don’t like competition to their own platforms. Platforms they are happy to censor for the US government’s own devices. TikTok isn’t doing anything other social media platforms are doing as far as data collection, they are just not based in the USA so Uncle Sam can’t step in and demand the data. The whole thing is a production of hypocrisy and goose stepping politics.
Recently diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, so still learning what my staples are. But eggs, strawberries, and grapes have become a pretty regular eat.
“Well guess that was dumb of you then. Bye.” I know this is hard as he’s your dad, but sometime you just need to walk away. I’ve not spoken to 90% of my family in over 20 years due to narcissistic, selfish behavior. Your peace is far more important then any relationship. I wish you luck and hope you can figure out a solution.
“Well, if you helped me pay off this debt then you should have some sort of proof. No? Well then, guess it didn’t happen.”
In the time we live in, all Onion article headlines could easily be real and all real headlines could be from the Onion.
Going offline on Jan 1st. For at least 4 years. If things get bad enough even after doing that, then I’ll take it further.

Every Christmas song ever.
I’ve not had any issues at all. Switched form T-Mobile 3 years ago. Though if you have coverage limits at home, you will probably still have those issues. I have a spot in my house that is pretty much just a dead zone, and it remained so after the switch. But yes, my watch connected via Bluetooth has no issues at all.
Not an Apple user so didn’t even think of that. I do have a Samsung watch but it’s Bluetooth, so no issues with it at all for me.
I’m assuming you are in the USA, so, If you have T-Mobile already, then I’d move to Mint. Same towers, $210 a year for unlimited phone and text and 5GB of 5G data. Then just buy your phone outright. Even if you did it on credit though Apple, you’d save quite a bit over a year.
Growth for growth/s sake means very little. Steady use is way more important and Lemmy has that.
