Does anyone know why Windows Update has been such a shitshow in the last years? Yes, they have Windows on billions of devices and that is complicated. But they’ve done stuff that never should happen anywhere.
They also did a pretty aggressive clearing of house in the earlier 2020s (something like 2022?) of senior employees and their RTO has also cleared some senior people.
The process knowledge that these people have is irreplaceable.

I blame vibe-coding. Windows has always been Windows, but I agree it’s been extra shit lately.
It has to be. I only use Windows on my work device these days, but the ways it breaks are so odd that it has to be AI
