Merz ended austerity policies, took on 500 billion € in new debt, used that to finance tax cuts for the rich and big business, and is now crippling social security and pensions, saying there’s not enough money.
He is the much worse guy Merkel prevented from gaining power until she retired.
You might not like it but that’s a reasonable thing to do.
